Update on bestiary

Here is my concept and it's current state as a print.

Bestiary

In my next assignment for screen printing I will be doing a bestiary.  A bestiary was typically used in Medieval times in illuminated manuscripts but have been a part of many cultures like the Romans and Greeks. Here are some examples:

Ukiyo-e finished

I haven't been blogging lately, sorry anyone who was following (Carolina).  Here is the finished product from the Ukiyo-e print.

This is what my first project is.  I am to research the UKIYO-E style woodblock prints, find one I like and copy it exactly, but I am to add something to the image that makes the piece a personal narrative.  Who I am, what I like, something that describes me.  The examples above are student works that Jeff showed me and are the best out of the lot. =)

Played around with color and composition.  Not really focusing on what colors I want to use right now just using analogous and complimentary colors.

Today is my first venture into my double major in printmaking and communication design.  My first assignment for intro to printmaking is to experiment with mixing and printing color on different media to see how opaque and transparent colors act with each other when printed on a diverse type of paper media.  This assignment will help me figure out how to mix and apply my colors with a desired outcome.
